I'm confused. What is this, again?

During the insect wars of Chicago, an Ares strike team located the main
hive, on Cermak street, and detonated a subtactical nuclear device inside.
The Cermak Blast, as it was called later, basically saved what was left of
Chicago by containing the insect spirits to the existing Containment Zone.
However, they still ran rampant for the next five years or so.

produce the collected works of Shakespeare. John Romero's Daikatana was a
five minute, ten monkey job.

It also happens to be a picture of 1401 West Cermack Ave. As the
numbers might indicate, that's 3 bloocks west of FASA, on the other side of
the street. Tzeentche's car was undoubtedly driving towards FASA at the
time.

Which subsequently begs the Question: Was there any significance to FASA's
choosing of that particular site, other than it was three blocks away from
the office and they didn't want to travel far?

Personally, I'm surprised FASA didn't do what Steve Jackson Games did and
nuke the home city of one of their rivals. Though, nuking Wizards of the
Coast might be a little counterproductive as far as the Shadowrun world
goes...

Apparently, Tom Dowd could see that building out of his office window and
decided to put the blast there. I don't know any more details than that,
though.

Actually, judging by the angle, they were driving parallel to the offices,
and not to them.

Its less than that. If you stand in the front office or along the south
wall in any office for that matter, you'll find your are facing that site
... from opposite the street. In the winter, it looks entirely desolate...
hell, almost any day of the year it does for that matter.

Ya answered your own curiosities there.

Just an example. They could also have obliterated White Wolf, for all I
know.

Well, I don't know where it comes from, but Palladium seems to have a
particular passion for destroying London... so far, they've had three games
that mentioned it (After the Bomb/TMNT&OS, Rifts, and Beyond the
Supernatural), and twice they've blown it up, once to be later taken over by
an evil group of slavers, and the third time they released a serial killer
on it... ;-)
