charisma is sorta like an aura of power: a character w/ hig cha is more
easily trusted, fits better in society, has an edge in negociation,
leadership, etc...
we've also defined a 'beauty' attribute, which goes from 1 to 6, determined
w/ a 2D6 dice roll (2=1, 3-4=2, 5-6=3, 7-9=4, 10-11=5, 12=6). beauty is
purely physical. it is what u would see on an holopic.
the beauty can be improved at character creation according to normal rules
w/ character creation points, w/ a cost at one half the one of a 'normal'
characteristic; and there's still the plastic surgery solution.
then there's the appearence, which is equal to (+/-(beauty-3) + charisma):
it is used in social situations such as flirting (then use +(beauty-3) ) or
violently intimidating/verbally violent interrogation (then use -(beauty-3):
frightening to be interrogated by a scarred sammy in those days when plastic
surgery is cheap: he's prolly a kinda psychopat and will kill me if i don't
speak..got my point?)
the racial modifiers apply not anymore to charisma, but to beauty: this are
criteria defined by the society, and rare are trolless top-models...the meta
are already penalized in social situations w/ the racism rules anyway, and i
see no reasons why a troll couldn't be a great war leader/commander (which
implies a good charisma to lead troops, in addition to a high level in
leadership)
the only exception to these rule is for elves, who can still have cha 7 if
they want
as for perception
for each of the 5 senses, we do just the same as for beauty, and then the
corresponding perception is the average of the sense and intelligence
ex: sight:2 int:4 visual perception:(2+4)/2=3
the same character w/ glasses could have sight:6
cyberreplacement always have a level=6 in the corresponding sense
when no particular sense is involved, we use the int, as usual
we'd thought about perception modifiers based on races and/or totemic
perception modifiers, but tis really complicated, and we had problems to
agree about it, so teh idea's still there, but nuthin's done.
