Hey chummers. Anybody have any idea how to print out the character
sheets at teetot called "srsheet2.ps" (for those who might have seen
it, it's the one in the nifty chart format). I tried ghostview and I tried
just printing it out, but neither of them worked. The damn printer
only wants to print out the first three pages, not all five. Ideas?

In my experience, ghostview sucks as a methog of viewing ps files.

Ehm... that's the postscript output of a coreldraw file. So if you are
using a pc and have a printer connected to windows I can give you
the sheets in some other format, just let me know.

What kind of copy? I was talking about file formats (gif, cdr, tiff).
BTW, you can get the latest version at my www page. Just follow the
links to InterNeat (tm) and then Shadowrun Archive.

Uhhh...what was that? You don't know what teetot is?!?! Well...teetot
is an ftp site with lots of nifty SR stuff. That is where everyone
picks up NAGEE's and the recently released ShadowLore. Although the
way everyone is complaining about the computer version of ShadowLore, I
would be tempted to just send Robert the $10 for a hardcopy. If you
don't know what the address for teetot is: teetot.acusd.edu. And the
directory you want is: pub/Beelzebub/Role-Playing/Shadowrun. Have fun.

Anybody care to send me a sample? I'm looking for the best sheet for a

I've got a quite extensive character sheet (actually it's 8 pages IIRC)
with two pages applying to all characters, and separate sheets for
magicians, deckers (both VR1 and VR2), riggers, firearms, and melee &
thrown weapons. All this because I wasn't happy with FASA's sheet that
never has room to write down all the stuff I want on it...

If anyone wants it, let me know through _private_ email and I'll send you
a copy in a few days (when I'm pretty sure I won't get any late responses
anymore). Oh, it's in Word 97 format and about 110 kB zipped.

I've got some older character sheet files stored in ps which I'm guessing
stands for post script. Does anyone know of any program which is able to
open them? Better yet who might have designed them? The best verbal
description for them is that the logo which says "Shadowrun Character
Sheet" starts with the Snake/Dragon symbol from the back of the main book.
These sheets also have different backs, one is a general data sheet with a
cyberdeck block, phy adept block and a cyber/bioware block. The rest of the
backs include a decker, rigger and a mage/shaman back. I know it's a long
shot but what the hey.

I guess I would have to ask, "What you have you tried to open them with so
far?"

I normally can get anything to open with the Wordperfect 8 Suite we got here,
or the HTM viewer from IE3/4...

"PS".??? I honestly do not remember that one.

Nghtlife guessed right, K. A .ps file is Postscript. The bad news about
Postscript is that you either have to have Adobe Postscript (which costs
a buttload of money) or a Postscript viewer. For those without great
loads of cash (or a cheap streak) there's a freeware viewer called
Ghostscript that should be available for most platforms. Should be able
to find it by asking a search engine (Yahoo would work well, probably,
but any would do fine) for it.

I can export Postscript files to PDF files easily enough. Then we could
likely find out who designed them.. >:)

Aside from that, you could try futzing around with ghostscript for windows,
but that's always miss or hit.

Couple things I would try:

you can get a utility called "Drop PS" that will take almost any post
script document and print it to a post script printer (pretty much any
laser printer these days is post script compatible). You can get it off

http://www.download.com

You might be able to open it with illustrator or freehand, if you have
acess to either one of them. If they won't open them, try placing it as a
piece of eps art in an Ills or FH document. If there is a proper ps header,
you will get a 72 dpi image of the artwork. They should still print
normally.

If you don't have either of those, you can try placing it in a Quark or
Pagemaker document (if you have either of those) as a peice of placed art.
Again, that should let you print them out.

If you don't have any of these toys, I would look in the phone book for a
prepress or service bureau. They should have all of the above toys.

Good luck.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

From the description, I'm pretty sure I designed them, and yes they are
PostScript. On the Mac, DropPS is the best way to print them. Under
windows, you used to be able to just copy the file into the printer port
using DOS, but that may not work anymore.

In any case, I suggest trashing the postscript files, because I just
recently updated them and made them available in PDF. Check out
http://pobox.com/~wordman/personal/srunsheets.html.

Actually they were Paolo's sheets I found them after a brain glitch told me
to check out the archive. But I can't get thim to cough up the pdf updates
to his sheets. Hint Hint nudge nudge. I've got the second gen versions of
his latest works but the need some editing as the alway have to top cut off
in printing. I suggested adding a few lines to the top so hopefully he'll
get that done soon. Nudge, nudge. ;)

Check out Wordman's character sheets. Those are the ones I use. I forgot
the URL to his site, but there is a link there from the Shadowrun Archive
(www.interware.it/shadowrun) in addition to links to lots of other sheets.

The last Shadowrun campaign I was in, we used these great Character sheets.
They were a word x.0 (one of the later versions, probably 97) sheet set up
in grids. I was looking for a copy of them, and I can't seem to find them.
Anyone have a clue as to what I was talking about, or could at least
recommend a good character sheet (preferably in word. I have bad
hadnwriting and like to type my character in)?

You probably mean Wordman's excellent sheets. There are lost of different
sheets listed at the Archive (http://shadowrun.html.com/archive) in any
case...

Well, I too have bad handwriting, but since I hate Word and can't edit
PDFs, I transcribed Wordman's layout into HTML (with a few changes).
Since I've been too lazy to submit it to the archive, here's the link:

I use a typed sheet too, 'cause it's so customizable, but I use
WordPerfect. I don't know how it would translate, as I don't have
Word. Would it be any good to you?

My GM is looking for some swell online character sheets, but has a problem
with the inability to edit PDF files. Are there any good Word document
character sheets? [More specifically, do Wordman's come in a Word variant?]

They do not. No Microsoft products are used in the production of my sheets.

Ah, a principled man, then. Not that I /understand/, but I hear what you're
saying.

Does anyone know of any Word character sheets? Or am I going to have to get
the full Acrobat suite for my GM?

Does anyone know of any Word character sheets? Or am I going to have to get

I've done some stuff in Word 2000. I don't know how great they are.. I've
formatted them to work with the way I run, and so my novice players wouldn't
get confused. I have about 8 more sheets to do in the set (shaman, wuxing,
vehicle, drones, otaku, etc..)... I'm hoping to finish the pack by the 28th,
if you'd like them let me know. They will be a rather hefty download I
guess... They were never intended for public use though.

I also recommend Wordman's sheets (I know you want to be able to edit them).
I have them myself, but have this habit of getting myself into projects...
and the sheets are my latest project.

As for Fonts. I use "Francis" almost exclusively. (In the past I have used
Tahoma and Bedrock as well, but I don't think I did any of that this time
around). If you are interested and need the fonts, I could send those along
as well.. :)

One of my more intrepid players made a pretty sweet xls sheet that
had FASA's blessing.

Someone mentioned using a palm pilot for character sheets.
Does anyone have character sheets formatted for palm pilots and if so where
can we get a hold of them please?
