Subject: Cheese Puffs and Lost Opportunities?

A few weeks ago, I sat at my computer (not so) quietly snacking on cheese
puffs and cheap beer, and started looking over my desk, in a fit of
spontaneous organization.

Lo, and behold, what should I happen upon, but a gift certificate from FASA
I'd recieved as an award at a local con a few months prior... By this time
I'd of course heard the News of the "shutdown" and WizKids LLC... and I
figured I'd try to get a hold of someone and see whether this piece of paper
was good for anything other than framing as a testament to the fact that I
was more coherent at 3am than 4 other players and a GM. (What, you expected
some statement of my grandiose abilities as a roleplayer? Bah.)

Anyways... my e-mails are met with silence, and my questions are still
unanswered. I figuree I'd just throw this at the rest of you, and see what
you thought:

*gasp--the actual question*

What the <<expletive deleted>> do I do with this gift certificate (not
redeemable by retail stores, as stated on the certificate itself) that FASA
was so kind to provide as a prize at the con? Look at it? Talk to FanPro?
Talk to what's left of FASA? Burn it in a solemn ceremony as a way to mourn
the passing of one of my favorite publishing companies?

Thanks in advance for even the most wild of speculations,
Lepper

Write e-mails to wizzkids (think You've done that already) and to FanPro
crazy@******.com thats the one that is responsible for the german SR line,
hopefully he can help, his RL name is: Frank Werschke).
Well, if somethings left of FASA a talk to them could be worthwhile. In
other words, use every possibility You have at hand, other than burn that
:))

Write directly MikeM? Hadn't thought of that. Mainly cuz I've beeen living
under a rock most of my life (save breif jaunts to run out and buy
sourcebooks and scavenge for food) and have no idea who he is. ;)

Who is he, and how can I contact him?

Thank you both for your (startlingly fast) help.

Well some say Mike is a conglomerate of many aspects of the SR universe,
other call him The man, and some few know him as the former SR Line
developer AFAIK. ;)

Thanks much for the info... "Enlightenment and knowledge are a beacon that
guide us through our lives." Or something like that.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm actually still waiting to hear from the
esteemed Adam. (When I ask questions, I do it right, dammit. heh.)

On a side note: Big K Red Cream SodaT is NOT a viable substitue for cheap
beer.

They may have officially stated that the gift certificates were invalid as
of April 30 2001, or whenver it was they closed down the Maurder program.
Still, its worth a shot. To use it, go to the FASA website and try to order
something. If you can, then they are still doing bussiness, so the gift
certificate is (maybe) still valid. To use the certificate, you have to
order by snail mail- use that option to print out your order form, then send
it along with the gift certificate. If your order cost more than the
certificate value (don;t forget shipping), include a check for the
difference. Then just be patient- the worst that can happen is your order
is never processed and you check is never cashed. But hope for the best- my
order took a long time to process but eventually came with some extra stuff!
