My point was (it may have gotten lost somewhere, I didn't know what I
wanted to say myself when I was halfway through writing it :) that gloves
used in a lab can be made from a material that isn't prone to losing its
protection, because all you wear are the gloves. Whereas military NBC
suits are _suits_, and making them from such a material makes them too
difficult to wear for any length of time.

However I do think their protection should degrade over time, but not the
very short time suggested earlier. Perhaps losing 1 rating point per hour
the suit is in an area contaminated with corrosive agents?

Or where such agents are {sus|ex}pected.

Same here, nor would it be persistent else the area where someone held a
demonstration that went out of hand could be contaminated for days...
