I just got Bug City today, and I've got to say I was impressed. So I'm
trying to get my players involved in the CZ, with a possable extraction or
search and destroy mission. Now, if say a corporation had seperate
interests from the UCAS military and needed to place a team in the CZ how
could they do it? From what I've read so far (I haven't completed the book
yet), the UCAS has the area pretty much secure.
How would they pull the team out when it was time?

Also my campaign is currently placed on Janurary 7, 2057 I believe.

Been thinking: I'd think that by now, there would be
some sort of order in the former CZ. Albeit may be of
the heavily militaristic kind, but it would be there
althesame. Also, the former CZ could be a smuggler's
haven otherwise with all the underworld dealings and
blackmarkets thriving there wit hthe still-absence of
any sort of police (except for the occasional military
patrol). Also, I'd think the megacorps would have
written the whole place off by now (though they may
also come to see the place as a perfect location to
start off with a clean slate and mold it to their own
image the way they did with Manhattan), but foreign
nations (remember the Consulates?) may still hire
runners (both domestic AND foreign) for search and
rescue missions.

And I'd think things like the runways ant Midway
International Airport would have been repaired by now.
Or some rigger gang is running VTOLs outta there.

I think the Haymarket Nation is still there, but they
may be at odds with the Aleph Society. Also, I think
that the area between the old area of Ghoultown and
WrigleyDome would be an elven enclave: Lots of trees,
greenery, etc. Now that the ghouls are all dead from
Strain III, the elves may have taken over the old
Ghoultown buildings, expanding their "turf". Of
course, the elves would be at constant war with King
Vlad who basically controls the northern areas of the
Chicago Sprawl by now (Catherine the Terrible controls
the southern half). But Tom Nishio may have recruited
some elves to form a united front against King Vlad.

Then, there are all the ethnicities of the City. The
Arab-Americans, Muslims, the African-Americans, Puerto
Ricans, Mexicans, Chinatown, the Polish Americans,
Little Italy, GreekTown, Irish-Americans, KoreaTown,
Jews, Ukranian Village ... though all these places
would be in ruins by now, I think the refugees camped
out in these ruins would be of the appropriate
cultural type as many in Chicago have established
their own neighborhoods and are .... reluctant to give
them up.

As far as the buildings in the northern Core, they may
have become like those of the old Loop area (the
Noose), unless the megacorps put forth the effort to
take their land back.
