OK, try not to laugh now, but my players have requested a special
holiday Shadowrun.

I am planning on using the "Christmas/X-Mas Spirit" that floated through
here a while back, and of course, I fully intend to rip off as many
holiday specials/novels/etc. as possible.

What I need are suggestions as to what stories/themes to include.

I have thought about a Ghost of Christmas Past/Present/Future type
thing, but I'm not sure who would get the visit. My players tend to be
very professional, and non violent.
No real Ghosts haunting them.

SPOILERS BELOW -BULL STAY OUT!!!!

One of my PC's, Bull - played by Steve Ratkovich has a long lost son.
He and his wife thought the boy was a stillbirth, but he survived and
has been transformed into a heartless killer by a mysterious bio-gen
corp. ala. Pygmalion from Mike Stackpole's Dark conspiracy - "Evil"
series.

My question is how can I incorporate this kid into the Christmas run.
I'm thinking a "Home for the Holidays" deal, wherin Bull makes peace
with the boy who thinks his father abandoned him. (Rightly so.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated, but please keep any mention of the
kid out of sight, as it could quickly spoil a good surprise for my
players.

How 'bout a protection run. You could heave Earl Starvous, the head of a
small financial corp. Call up the runners becaus he is on the wrong side
of St Shaman of conciderable power. The shaman summens a spirit of man, or
he summens a free spirit, or 3, who owe him some favores. Can you say
Astral Quest/Astral gateway? I knew you could? And your friend could find
out about his friend then and turn the test into a Quest... Have Fun!

About a month ago I posted here asking for ideas for a holiday themed
Shadowrun I was planning.
I want to thank everyone who sent me ideas, and let you all know how the
first chapter went.

!!!!!WARNING!!!!!
If you have strict ideas about what is/is not SR, don't read any further,
'cause it's about to get strange!

THE CAST

Bull (PC) - Everybody's favorite Orc Decker/ Family Man - he is surrounded
by his twin children Reba and Billy, and his Wife Marie (NPC's).
Johnny 99 (PC) - A Grade 4 initiate Coyote Shaman - he is surrounded by
his wife Xuxa, and his former wife, now a Mantis host Becky (NPC's).
Mr. White (PC) - A Merc/Samurai with a penchant for technology - his
supporting cast includes his semi-adopted son Sean Gaffney (NPC) (From the
SR Module "Divided Assets" - they kept the kid!) and his girlfriend Cinz,
an elf mage(NPC).
Oni - Cyborg/Robot created by Renraku. Created using Cybermancy. recently
re-acheived sentience.
Sangre (PC) - A Voudoun follower of Ghede and his new girlfriend Sydney
(NPC) a gorgeous bartender.
Codis (PC) - An amerind sammy, now possessed by a spirit he does NOT
understand.
Daytripper (NPC) - Began life as a hearth spirit, now a free spirit . . .
of a kind.
Wrencher - A samurai/street punk living a directionless life.

Well, where do I start. . .
I think I'll just list events as they come to me.

BULL
- Managed to buy his kids "Tickle-Me-Dunkelzhan" and other TM great
dragons.
- Just discovered that the son he thought long dead/stillborn was stolen
by a corp and vat-grown into premature adulthood. The child Michael was
transformed into a cybermantic monstrosity with the mind of a small orc
child helpless and frightened inside. Mike turned up on the McAllister
family doorstep Christmas Eve.

JOHNNY 99
- Found a willing host for a Dragonfly cocoon he OFFERED to care for when
he fled Chicago.
- Built an enchanted ring for his wife, containing several
locked/quickened spells. Harvested ALL the stones himself, with spirit
assistance.

MR. WHITE
- Witnessed a free spirit gain enough karma to leave this plance of
existance. The spirit, Daytripper rescued a man about to jump off a bridge.
There was the sound of a bell, and the spirit sprouted wings, and flew off
toward the heavens. (George Bailey/It's a Wonderful Life reference. :-))
- Discovered his father and brother are both alive, trapped in the Chicago
CZ, and that the UCAS govt. is considering hitting Chi-Town with a neutron
bomb.

SANGRE
- Finally bedded the woman of his dreams, only to discover that she was
being ridden by the Loa Erzulie (Spirit of Passion and Romance)
- Found the name and location of the man who ordered the assassination of
his family.
- Became pregnant (yes, he's a MALE!) by the spirit of Erzulie, and his
own Loa Ghede.

ONI
- The original personality of the test subject turned into the killing
machine that is Oni just regained awareness.
- Oni discovered that Renraku has placed the Oni-bot into semi-mass
production, making several of the toughest warriors available as security
forces for the corp.

CODIS
- Discovered that what he THOUGHT was a free spirit using the hidden life
power on his body was something much darker.
- Received MASSIVE power in exchange for allowing the spirit to use his
body for HIDEOUS acts. So far, he has assaulted, killed and eaten two
people, one of which was a 10 year old choirgirl. This is gruesome, but
fitting for a munchkin in reform.

WRENCHER
- Was getting very bored with SR, so in a last ditch effort ot either
rekindle her interest, or remove her character from the game, I had Johnny
99's mantis/wife approach Wrencher with the idea of joining the Mantid
enclave. She ACCEPTED willingly!!!!!!!!!
- Played out the entire host/infestation scene, and she managed to
maintain enough control over the merge to retain her identity.

We all had a ball starting this run, and I again want to thank everyone on
the list who helped us get this thing ready.
Again, I realize that a LOT of this is not exactly SR kosher, but hey, we
had fun, and for a change EVERYBODY on the team ROLEPLAYED!!
Most players never picked up a die. instead, they got inside their
character's heads, and saw how they ticked.
Can you all tell I'm real pleased with the way my team is developing?! :-)

We're planning on wrapping a lot of stuff up New Year's Day, so you can
probably expect more then.
Feel free to send feedback, but be aware that any complaints, or cries of
Munchkinism will be soundly LAUGHED AT!! Ha-ha!!!!

Looks like you got your Christmas wish, too.
