Could someone who has the books handy tell me what the dates are for the
following events?

The riots in DC
VITAS waves
The first Otaku
The founding of the Universal Brotherhood

I'm working up some character backgrounds and need to make sure I create TOO
many inconsistencies.

Thanks,

That's not what I just read on NERPS... I haven't taken a look at it
myself, but from the comments there, it seems it's filled with stuff from
somebody's campaign that deviates somewhat from FASA's world.

Try and so it came to pass SR2 as a first bet, or a SR timeline (eg
in worlds without end)

I don't think you can be sure, first mentioned in Denver i think, so
early 2050's probably , 'maybe' 2054/55?????

Its in the UB file (Zeb wanderly), something like 2041 or so from
memory but someone will have to check.

A wave which was incorrectly called VITAS-4 struck Seattle in 2054

>The first Otaku
There is nothing that I can find on when otaku *first* came about, but they
are discussed in the Denver Boxed Set and more (of course) in VR2.0. My
guess, and that's all it is, is that they first arose about 2050 or a
little later. My reasoning is that the latest generation cyberterminals
and data jacks are only improvements over the radical inventions which
ended about 2048 or so. Give the youngsters a few years of cruisin'
cyberspace and refining their skills, and you get otaku about when I said.
IMHO the oldest otaku would be about nineteen, and he or she are not as
good as the kids of today (that's *today* 2057, not today 1996). If you
are going to have an otaku in your campaign, make them about fourteen.
Actually, I just looked up VR2.0 and they say that the oldest otaku is in
their late teens. How's that for a memory?

>The founding of the Universal Brotherhood
In 2043, the Universal Brotherhood, a humanitarian organization that
preaches a philosophy based on the group consciousness equations of Dr.
Caitlin O'Connal (actually a combination of New Age pseudo-mysticism and a
healthy dose of Madison Avenue marketing smarts) opens its first chapters
in California: two in San Francisco, one in Ukiah, and one in Gilroy. Dr.
O'Connal dicovered these group consciousness equations in June 2039. No
scientific journals would publish her work.

Hurm. I hadn't gone through it year by year, but it seemed to have just the
normal stuff. YMMV.

The "Just Compensation" Riots happened about the same time (down to a
week or so) that the Chicago Bug-Breakout did. If there were other
riots, you'd have to check the Neo-Anarchists Guide to North America.

2011 is the correct year, 10 years before orks and trolls. Note that this
is not including the spike babies, of course (or that elf magician from
Dreamchipper, who's 43 years old in an adventure set in 2050. The first
appearance of a spike baby perhaps?).

The fact that it -is- a bunch of code? Its a perl script like for when
you make an automated guestbook... this is the part that seperates what
comes in from a form and makes the response...

Ie there should be somewhere that calls this code... probably on
the shadowrun page at http://www.interware.it/sr/ and there will be a
link from there (I think thats the addy... if not try /shadowrun/ ...)
There will be a link for shadowrun explorer and that will -call- the perl
script

Is there anywhere in the web a chronology of all
published Shadowrun adventures? Some of them have got
recurring characters (like Blackwing) and I would like
to keep track of their development in the world of
Shadowrun.

Try: http://www.xs4all.nl/~gurth/shadowrun/adventure%20dates.html

PS: Gurth, you _seriously_ need to fix all those broken links on your site
that fail to include the "/shadowrun/" directory.

What I need is to finish the completely-revised version of the reviews, which
should have none of these problems. But that's yet another item on my To Do
list...

Crap, someone on the list sent me this (Gurth was that you?)
but I deleted it when I made a back-up copy. And of course the backup
was stolen. And it only covered 1st and 2nd ed.

http://www.xs4all.nl/~gurth/shadowrun/adventure%20dates.html has been
mentioned, but there is also a listing on
http://members.aol.com/masn/source/adventures.html which has more
explanations why he has guestimated the start date for the adventure, plus
it includes a few adventures that Gurth hasn't got on his list (Shadows of
the Underworld, Prototype Envy, Corporate Punishment and Brainscan).
