After reading the umpteen bajillion posts about riggers and
whatnot, two things stood out:
Better vehicle combat rules. Somebody came up with an idea to
pattern vehicle combat rules based upon the standard combat turn, with
actions (free, simple, and complex) and initiative and all of that stuff.
What an awesome idea! I think that idea should be expanded even further.
Would the person who had that idea please E-mail me back or post to the
list further ideas? I'll see what I can come up with. If anyone else has
ideas, post them too!
Drone construction rules. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THERE ARE NO RULES
FOR RIGGERS TO BUILD DRONES!!! I think rules should be developed in this
area. I would like to take a different approach than what Mr. Hayden has
in mind. I would like to base these Drone Construction Rules (DCR) on the
already existing rules in RBB. If they can be made good enough, I wouldn't
rule out the idea of publication (Challenge Magazine or something like
that, everyone participating gets credit, copyrights, BS, BS, etc.) This
is not meant to be a "revolutionary splinter group" from Hayden's VCC
stuff, but simply a different approach.
If mages can have elementals, shamans have spirits, and deckers
have frames, why can't Riggers have Drones?!? (insert inspirational music)
Riggers of the world unite! We must have drone construction rules!
(...Till the Saints come marching home.)
Well, I feel better. I'm going to start making ideas for the DCR.
I'll post them tommorrow.
