In regards to followers, how many does a character get and at what
cost?

Is it really 5 for 200,000 Y?

Thanks,

Gregory

If you read the SRII basic book pg 43, it talks about picking
five different archtypes. Once you pick the archtypes, there is really
no limit on how many a player has (as many as he or she can buy gear
for). But remember that only 1D6+1 are available at any given time.
This is the interpretation straight out of the rules.
But when is that ever enough??? I use a few house rules for
followers. Namely, I don't limit it to five archtypes. Hell, I don't
even limit it to archtypes. Also, I make the provision that the more
followers a player starts out with, the less loyal they are apt to be.
I've made these changes mainly to allow for characters to have their own
organizations. They are prohibitively expensive, however.

This story about the guy with the 2 sets of followers etc. reminded me of
a player of mine who came to me after a day of listening to manowar and
we designed the absolute biker badass dwarf from mars complete with
10 sets of gangs, yes thats right 10! The guy had mostly bioware read
no expensive wired reflexes 3 and so he could afford them. We desided that
it would be best to let him have his own go gang :)
Imagine that about 100 dwarfs on their bikes attacking a warehouse :) I
liked that char very much. We were playing Dark Angel at the time and he
brought his dudes in at the partyzone (were all sorts of neo-anarchists
hang out) that was a barrel of laughs....
Incidentally this char was a hermetic sorcerer adept and also had extensive
corporate, mob, yakuza contacs and a charisma (complete with locked
incr. charisma +4) to drive you nutz.
