Heh, yeah, that's rather fun... when I was in college, we had a similar type
of thing. Eventually we just decided that all of our characters all knew
each other, even the ones that hadn't officially met lol - even got to where
most of them lived in the same building (security can be fun to set up when
a group more or less owns an entire apartment building and thus doesn't have
to worry about wageslave neighbors complaining about Sentries in the
stairwell, or the occassional firefight in the hallway... *g*)
A few of us had some characters that only one of the GMs would allow, or one
wouldn't allow, etc... like my Michael Knight ripoff which one of them
simply refused to let me play unless he could kill him off, just on general
principles lol But for the most part, they had the same rules; if one GM
allowed something, the others would too. The only sticking points were 'net
stuff, like my chaos shaman with a stealth suit and the mana sword ("Armor?
WHAT armor? He was wearing armor? Didn't bother me none... by the way, I
happen to have this suit of security armor if you'd like to buy it.
Perfectly good, all in one piece, just have to hose out the insides a bit
more..."), but even those could get hashed out.
The only problem was, there'd be times when one character would be
absolutely PERFECT for a run... but he'd be in the midst of another run
started the night before by another GM, that hadn't been finished yet, so
couldn't be used lol
Friend-of-a-friend rules from the SRC were pretty much tailor made for that
lol - "Wow, I can't belive none of us know any talismongers. Hey, let's call
Wildcat up, he's bound to know one..." "Sure, here's Joe's number. Do me a
favor and let him know I have that stuff he wanted me to get him and will
bring it by tomo- Drek! Gotta go, they just sent an elemental after me!" *g*
