I believe it would become 5D. It seems every point of staging above two
converts to two point added to the power in S/R II. Thus 3D3 --> 5D.

That's what it says in the back of the SRII rules: add the Staging (the
second number) to the Power Level: 3D3 becomes 6D. The weird thing is that
for critters, it works differently...

As I recall if the damage is xD2 or xD1, SRII is xD
anything else, add the staging to the power.
xDy => x+yD

I thought it was xDy => x+(y-2)D
so if it's 4d1 => 4+(1-2)D
4+(-1)D
3D

Yeah, somethin' like that. The back of the SRII book says, either (with
reference to the critters) what you said (except doesn't mention stagings
of 1...I'd just treat them as stagings of 2 and go with it.), or to add
the staging to the power as a quick conversion (in the "how to convert old
modules" section/blurb).

It's all pretty much a moot point because nearly everything has been
converted or rewritten for SRII by now anyway. If not you can just find
something with the same damage code and find how it was converted.
