Subject: Cool mage ideas

I once had an idea for a blind shaman. When he was learning the
ways, he accidently cast acid bolt wrong, and severly blinded himself and
left some pretty bad scars on his face. Now, only through astral
perception and projection can he see. Needless to say, he'll never cast
acid bolt again.
Never actually played him or even made him, just an idea I'd like to
play. See, I'm usually the GM, so... :)

Why not have him blind from birth?
A sort of Geordie La'Forge of the shadowrun world....

It's a neat idea, but very limiting. There's a +2 TN to do any mundane
task while astrally perceiving. The more limiting character concepts
tend to work better as NPC's than PC's.

Keep that in mind when you are GMing...this guy could be a cool NPC mage
the party works with...

Sorry but check out the SR companion Pg. 25 right hand coloum 2/3's up flaw of
value -6 or -2 if you are magically active. Kewl idea though. :-) or should it
be B-) Of course you could take this another way and have an ememy who is
blind, possible
miraculous-escape-but-lost-his/her-sight-in-the-process-and-now-wants-revenge-
type-npc I think, and just think of the motivation >:-) (sr comp pg 71>) any
way.......
