To Ivy over the cop cyberwear

Let me get this right, you invisage a cop that only has 0.06 essence left.

Now if I remember correctly the less essence a person has the less
mentally sound they are. A person with only 0.06 essence is then more
physcotic than almost all samuri.

Flash to picture in 2054, traffic cop pulling over motorist.

cop : " Can I see your registration please driver?"
Driver : "Sure here it is."
Cop : "I'm afraid that you crossed double line back there, thats an
offence."
draws gun, "BLAM BLAM BLAM."
Cop : "I hate traffic offenders"

While you may not think this appropriate, I've see samuri with higher
essence than 0.06 do similar things.

hee hee. That is what public relations officers are for. "I am sorry Ms.
Jones. Your little Jimmy did spit on the side walk though."

I think we are all forgetting that cops are just corperation types. They
provide security to those who pay for it. They may have different cops and
different equipment for walking a beat as opposed to traffic violations.
Those are just a rigger with big guns who comes up and charges you for the
offense and takes it in cash on the spot if you are SINless. And they may
very well blow up you car if you don't pull over right away. Would anything
else impress people like the Acients or the Tigers? Heck it wouldn't even
impress my last party of shadow runners. They have to be cybered in our
game. They are reduced to a neusance if they are not. We went through cops
like most people go through gogo gangs. And they never even realized they
were being shot at. Procedure for a messed up run...

1. kill all police and security in the area. Try to prevent them
from calling back up.

2. kill anything else that is shooting.

I would think that this policy would end as soon as enough mid
level corp employees get blown away on their morning commute. Despite
their ruthlessness and disregard for the sanctity of human life, I doubt
any corp would appreciate their employees being blown away by psycho cops.
Also, the wrongful death law suits would begin to pile up fast enough that
even K-E would have to sit up and take notice.

IMHO, of course.

Mcculloch, you have an exceedingly violent view of the world, even for
Shadowrun.

>Those are just a rigger with big guns who comes up and charges you for the
>offense and takes it in cash on the spot if you are SINless. And they may
>very well blow up you car if you don't pull over right away. Would anything

1) Anyone who is merely ticketed is not SINless. If you have a driver's
license, you have a SIN. If you have no license, they will probably arrest
you for drinving without one, unless you can provide prrof that you are indeed
allowed to drive (recite your SIN if youm left it at home). And I doubt
they would blow up just any vehicle that didn't pull over. More likely they
would notify other units in the area and a high-speed chase would ensue.
Blowing things up all the time endangers other drivers and leaves a bi
mess to clean up.

Emphasis on the word "try".
> 2. kill anything else that is shooting.

Wasting more time that you could spend escaping properly.
The only crime here is if you are serious and let tpeople get away with this.

Essence measures the integrity of the person's nervous system,
and really doesn't have much to do with mental attitude. You
really can't predict how different people will react to becoming
superhuman, with cyber, magic or even the HMHVV, but I doubt it
has much to do with your Essence attribute.

Well, that's Samurai, most of them _do_ live by different rules
than the police.

While currently SR says that nothing happens unless you hit a 0.0 essence, Tom
has said that he is trying to write up rules for a Sr-type of cyberpsychosis.
However, he also said that he didn't want it to be an excuse for players to do
whatever they wanted; he was trying to avoid the R.Tal I'm-cyberpsycho-so-I-
can-hose-down-the-pedestrians syndrome. However, it does look there will be
rules for it eventually. Personally, I think that someone hit the nail on the
head when they said, basically,"if you become 3/4 metal, able to jump buildings
, get shot by missiles and survive, etc, wouldn't YOU consider the rest of the
human race to be somewhat lacking? And therefore not worth keeping around?"

*deep sigh* This is the sort of thing that belongs in the realm
of role-playing rather than rules-overdose, I feel.

Well, that's useful, I do suppose. Although I've never seen
anyone _use_ that as an excuse for hosing people. It probably
does happen. I did play a Solo with a humanity of 2 once. She'd
entered this "Get all the cyber I can find" phase and was _very_
cold. But not psychotically violent. If she had hit 0, I don't
think she would have been bouncing off walls. OTOH, she probably
would have scared the s**t out of anyone she met until someone
tough enough to play Psycho Squad aced her. But, hey, it's
roleplaying, as I said.

That all depends. I'm certain that there would be a difference
in attitude, as I stated earlier in fact, I just don't feel that
change should be a game mechanic. It's silly, Vampire has
Humanity, Nightlife has the same, RTG has Empathy and now SRun
will have one too? It never works, imo.

Append previous list to rad as follows.

Porcedure for a messed up run:

1.Kill all poilce and security.

2.Kill anything else that is shooting. (at you)

3.spend no more than two turns in the combat--then use explosives
and leave. Never be there when the reinforcements arive.

It causes Vampirism.

This has probably been answered, but it's "Human-MetaHuman
Vampiric Virus." Victims of this virus become Vampires,
Dzoo-Noo-Qua, Wendigo, Banshee, and so on. There are several
versions (some of which produce Bandersnatches and Loup Garou and
so on) of this virus. No known cure, really. One of the books
(Find Your Own Truth by Robert Charrette) is somewhat centered
around the main character's attempt to cure an HMHVV victim.

Well, I happen to have a powerful group of players that I run with. Our
opponents are big too. Like Inish. 8 or even 15. And they are always ready
for us. We only fight one at a time with mabie one guard. And we really
hurt when it is over--we often die. But if you are careful and creative you
live.

We also have very powerful cha.'s to start with. We just make them big and
get lots of lucky rolls when we look for stuff. We have also gamed together
for 7+ years so we have a nack for locating the most important areas of a
system and using them.

Hee hee, it is fun to be a munchkin. It isn't really power gaming if all
your opponents are better than you are and you still find ways to complete
your mission. That is one of the aspects of shadow run that we like--your
opponents can always be more powerful than you are and it isn't redicules.

We make out parties the same ways as everyone else does, we just look for
the optimum blend of powers.

If that is being a munchkin then I say be a munchkin.

Besides, I like the big bang you get from gernades. :)
