well, i have been putting this off for too long...

those of you who went to gencon might recall that at the seminars that tom
dowd mentioned some of the products that are upcoming...one of which is
the Corporate Security Sourcebook and the author was introduced to the
audience...his name is Mike Colton, and he is a government employee that
works in the security field...i posted a little summary earlier, and some
didnt see any reason for this book...i then talked to mike at work (we
work in the same building) and asked him what i could share with the
internet...i don't think he realizes just how much email the internet will
be sending him, as i am also going to post this also on the
rec.games.frp.cyber newsgroup...

here is his reply:

First of all - my email address is: m.colton@*****.geis.com.
Unfortunately, I only have email capabilities. I would very much like to
hear what the Internet users have to say. For now, tell them this: the
Corporate Security Sourcebook will deal with the five (5) aspects of
security in the Shadowrun universe. They are - Personnel Security,
Physical Security, Technical Security, Matrix Security, and Magical
Security. It will be written in three sections: 1) Source material, 2)
rules additions and modifications, and 3) security gear. Rules additions
include how to set up a security system, how to defeat it and how to rig
it. Yes, that's right, how a Rigger controls a high-level security
system. Magical security will be covered in-depth. Also, rules dealing
with guard animals (mundane, cybered and/or paranatural) will be included.
As will information on Executive Protection. Gear will include new
weapons (lethal and non-lethal), drones, vehicles, new-cyber and bio-ware,
etc. Currently the sourcebook has been slated at 144 pages. Also, tell
them the stuff in Neo-Anarchist Guide to Real Life is "old", nothing
compared to what the corps can really put out in a well-integrated
security system. If they wish to discuss more, give them my Internet
address. I also head up a topic on Corporate Security on GEnie in the
FASA area (Topic 3, Category 7, in Scorpia's multi-player game area).
This sourcebook was mentioned in one of the Shadowrun handouts. In fact,
it was mentioned as two sourcebooks: Corporate Security Sourcebook and the
Ares Security Catalog - 2054.

well, thats the message....i hope you guys will be nice and not overflow
his mailbox! :)
