VERY cool, actually.
As for cost, it is part of his background. He woke up one
morning to the sounds of gunshots, while camping. When he
found the source of the shots, it turns out that poachers had killed
a hellhound pack, which had been defending the cubs of the Alpha
and Beta pairs. Only Cujo survived, and Officer True-Thunder (his
parents were militant neo-hippies) adopted him. As the pup got
bigger, he started training the Cujo and convinced the K-9 training
officer to do some unofficial after-hours work. The first time Cujo hit
the streets, the was a drekstorm from the precinct Captian, but
since no perps were actually eaten that night, after much
discussion, True-Thunder and Cujo were allowed to patrol the
streets, so long as Cujo wore an explosive collar that could
dispose of him if he ever lost control. (after a while, the collar was
just sort of lost.) (And yes, I DO know that this isn't the way that
K-9s are selected an paired, but it works. And don't tell me that
everything is all dark and gloomy in SR- that's CP2020. Life might
suck in SR, but at least there is the hope it will get better. Ain't no
such hope in CP2020.)
As to how the
If HAD to put a monitary on the cost of a tame (NOT
domesticated- you can't domesticate a hellhound) would be around
5000¥+. Tripple it for basic tracker training.
Plus, the monthly upkeep is the same as having a "guest", as
per the rules for lifestyle. If you think getting an apartment that will
accept a dog is hard, try finding a place with a fifty-five kilo, glowing
eyed, fire breathing, dual natured wolf in tow. The damage deposit
was increadable. :)
