I'm really not wanting to do that/this option though, simply because Donny is
already Otaku (initiated using a combination of HHH's/Shadowlands concept for
such) and has a Barghest pet to help handle his "need for magical security".

Hey folks, on the idea of how much it costs to get a Critter, how about this
for a concept? "Design" the Critter using the Build Points systems in SRC3,
using "Full Magician" as the cost it would have taken for a "Paranormal
Animal". Each power could be viewed as the "spell points" or "force
points"
accordingly (ie; a critter with a 6 essence has a cost of "6" for each
paranormal ability for example ... the base 25 points would cover up to that
many paranormal powers ... anything beyond this would cost more).

Take the total Build Point cost and multiply it by 100¥ or so. MOST Critters
will come into the 10,000 to 20,000¥ cost range using this method. Apply a
Street Index of "2" in most, if not all, cases. You could increase the cost
for particular rare or dangerous paranorms in any/all cases of course.

Keeping the Critter beyond this would become a matter of adjustments to
"Lifestyle" for the character who is keeping the "pet". Think of a
"Lifestyle" as being applied to a person of "average" requirements
(average
person physical attributes for people). For every point of *any* attribute
over the *average* (4 is the case i was looking at actually, being somewhat
merciful), a +10% increase to the "dependant" cost for that animal (which is
normally 10% of the base Lifestyle cost for the sponsoring person).

Handling modifiers based on the Critter's health are completely flexible upon
the Lifestyle. Critters in Middle or higher Lifestyle environments are
probably not a problem. Critters in Low (or worse) Lifestyle levels are
probably causes for tempermental animal behavior (tends to be snappy, zealous
about food, etc...).

Yes, I'm still working on the side with the Critters/Botanical sections for
HHH, I'm just not sure what to do yet.
