The mailing list for it has gone dead and I cannot get any response on it ...
the prelimary rough design overview was figured out and some good ideas for
the overall structure ... but then everything went silent.

Where would this mailing list be at? In theory, I'll have a shiny new
PowerBook in a few days, so cross-platform utilities are that much more
interesting to me now...

For that matter, what other cross-platform utilities exist for Shadowrun?

Slightly off topic, but I have put a bit of work into a random
NPC/Matrix system generator for Palm OS. It's not at a workable stage
yet, but if anyone besides myself might use something like this I'd
think about finishing it up.

There's my cyberdeck calculator that I posted last year (I think). It's
written in Python, so it should run on pretty much anything (provided
there's a Python interpreter for it, of course).

http://lsrcg.sourceforge.net/
The link to the project page should work, while the one to mine doesn't.

As far as I know, none, but I think the NSRCG at
matrix.dumpshock.com/mcmackie works with WINE for Linux. Dunno about
MacOS, though.

That would be fun to have. A Palm is much more usible during a game than a
laptop or desktop.

Unless of course you have your character sheets, gaming notes, mood
music, etc. all available on your laptop as well. And humorously
enough the last gaming session we had had both the Palm users run out
of batteries and not be able to use them to roll dice. :-)

I'd like to know of this list as well. I've been tossing ideas around
in my head for a char gen prog, an' since I code in Java, it'd be cross
platform by nature.

I hope to have Omnihedron (http://www.divnull.com/omnihedron/) cross
platform by the end of the year.

I agree with the desktop, but disagree with the laptop.
Unless you have one of these cinemascope-screen buggers.
The bigger screen and bigger storage space help GM'ing a lot, especially
the screen. And of course, players cannot take a look at the adventure you
are running, provided you have all you need as a file on the laptop.

And having a power outlet nearby doesn't hurt, either. :)
