Hooboy, time to join the fray. Lemme tell y'all a story.
Maybe its something y'all heard before. Maybe that ain't so.
Don't matter anyhow, cause I'm gonna say it anyway. Something to
the tune of six real time years ago a decker/mage was created (due
to the inspiration of the DNA/DOA cover). Now he wasn't so potent
as either/or but he managed to stay alive in the shadows. When the
little voice inside his head told him that he had to go one way or
the other, he bail the magic scene to dump ALL his TIME and karma to
decking. Lets say that makes for one mondo mucho decker. I called
him god. No one else I know plays in the Seattle Electric power grid,
but hey, thats me. Now y'all are problable saying that I'm tooting
my own horn. Sorry, but your wrong, can't say that I ain't flattered
though. Last year (real time) he take off and secludes himself. Takes
alla his money (after being co-holder in a minor corp that a chum of his
created, he had a lot, not counting the runs he'd been on.) which probably
numbered in the tens to hundreds of millions of nuyen. He secludes himself,
ain't let a word slip to his pals, nuttin has been heard of him. Seems that
one corp asked him real nice to build a deck for them. Lends credance to t
the idea he had LOTS o' resources at his finger tips. He comes back wit'
dis drek eating smile and a deck. Not to mention the schematics. Real
wiz of an ice cutter. Skating edge of tech, man. He is real proud of what
he's done. Shows it to a few people. Most o' them cut him to pieces without
a thought and careful reading. There were a few who didn't. Like those
kinda fella's. Nice people. Many harsh words were spoken. Greek fire
flew with abandon. Asbestoes underwear was in abundance. My freind gets
kinda testy, being that he's had a work load from the infernal regions.
Now, I do admit that he reacted rather badly and wit a knee jerk reaction.
That is something that he occasionally does. But I jus wanna say that I ain't
known a better GM, or a fairer one. Oh, did I mention that my friend is
semi-retired...aka...He just shows up to pull my bacon outta the fire?
Didn't think so. I do so hate Rateing 10 to 15 ice. But then, that seems
the norm, where I'm at.
Now this ain't a flame, nor any relation to greek fire or black powder products,
But it is a heart felt plea to stop them, and to have a bulletin that doesn't
eat everyone for breakfast.

I know I am probably setting myself up for a flame war, *sigh* but I do feel
that this got out of hand. G.G. aka Scott Madaski is a nice guy/great gm,
but if I got flamed (for the most part) that bad, I think I might have reacted
the same way.
*sigh* I'll probably be blackballed for this post, not to mention nobody's
probably gonna read my future posts. Such is life.

[ Cool story deleted... ] *grin*

Sorry to jump in so late here, but I have been in hell for the
last few months and I am just getting back to the bandwidth and
would like to say something here....

[ I dunno, I think we can try bandage everyone's ouchies and get this
discussion going again....anyone who disagree's probably shoudnt read
any further... :) ]

Unfortunately, I agree with everyone about attitudes afflicted upon
others, but I would like to ask everyone involved if it is possible
for us to turn this around into a quest for a deck that is possible
to be made and is different from what is in the books? The original
idea was great, the end product was what suffered and lacked in the
actual realm of possibility. I know we all like to post things
that we can work with to attain, so maybe we can take this deck idea
and make it something we can all be happy with. I think Doom had
a semi-right track by listing the faults and oopsies. What I,
personally, would like to see is the original deck remade into
what the rules say is possible.

I know I havent been on the bandwidth in a while, but since I just
created a decker of my own to play with, who wants to be able to
create her own deck (right now, as scarey as it seems, she is better
at running naked than running with a deck because I gave her cyber-
ware and skill, but not a deck because I wanted her to create her
own.) Granted, I dont think I would create one like this man has
aspired to on my first try, but the experience is what I am looking
for.
Anyone who is interested in
creating a deck that is not like
that currently in the books, you know,
something new and different, let me know,
because I would be most interested in doing so.

QuickSilver (NO, not the decker,
the BeastMaster....
it was my name first!)

P.S.
Doom and Flare, I have completed the work I have been doing for the
last few (or is it several by now?) months. If you are intersted
in the final product, (I know Doom once said he was) let me know
and when I get a chance I will send it to you....unfortunately, it
still issn't open to the public eyes...not for at least another month!
