I think we are all forgetting (me included) a power
factor here. What would the corps do if the UCAS,
CAS, TT, NAN, etc...started cybering their grunts?
I think the corps would get a little over worked
about it. Paranoia of raids to come. Not being the
best. The corps would start following the same policy.
Ack. Gak. Runners would have a harder time keeping that
edge they so desperately need. And you'd have serious
tension escalation between the gummint and the corps.

But the real question is when was cyber-under-wear introduced? ;)

Cyber*wear* was introduced with the first wearable computer. This
little fad never really caught on in Shadowrun, though it still
exists in the form of the wristcomp.

Cyber*ware* is in development now, IRL. At least as regards the correction
of certain types of blindness by the application of light-sensitive diodes
and neural implants.

Does the pacemaker count as cyberware? If so, then it's been around for a
long time.

There are also ear implants that allow people with certain kinds of
deafness to hear being used today.

Cyberware exists allready.

But when was REAL cyberware (such as muscle augmentation, wired reflexes, eye
mag, thermo) invented (in the SR world, not this one)?
