We do have shapechangers in some of the games on my campus. Every
one is a magically active type, most are physical adepts as this makes the
most sense and most of the rest are shamanic adepts. We long ago ruled
that no cyberware was allowed due to the regeneration, and if they wanted
bioware they took some hefty penalties. All bioware had to be cultured,
but they do not get the benifit of the culturing for reducing their
essence loss. The monetary cost was four times normal for cultured materials,
and we gave them a skill for shapechanging equal to their magic atribute.
I have seen 2 shamans with bioware. One did not even want it but was used
as a test subject by a particularily nasty corp. The other has regreted
it ever since she had it put in. for most were's the cost was just to high.
