cyber-bunnies. When I stopped laughing and climbed back on my chair
(the ortho-furr really was a killer), I though it over and saw a
fantastic opportunity to use SHFA (small harmless furry animals) in
shadowrun. In the game Warhammer 40.000 you have an item called
frenzon-injector which they used on convicted criminals. Shortly it
works something like this: Herd the prisoners to the battle; push the
little button on your remote; the drug is injected in the prisoners;
kazooo!! they go berzerk and attack the enemy. And the great part is
they fight on to the last man.
Now built this in, say 100 bunnies, release them in your security
compound garden (may sure they won't go away, use a thingy which
makes it painfull for them to move away or something), link the
trigger to some silent sensors (or guards) and then wait for the
shadowrunners to arrive.
When they come they think: "Hey frag what's that? Awwwhhh, look at
those nice little bunnies!"
klick
(bunnies get a scary red glow in their eyes)
"AAAarlgh get them off me!!!"
("We will have to use the holy handgrenade" (couldn't resist it :-) )
Ok, ok this is a bit far fetched, but hey the Romans used Geese as
guard animals (just for the noise they didn't attack :-) ). The point
is most guard-animals need a double fence construction to be
contained. If you use animals like ferrets (nasty little buggers) they
are not directly visible and in swarms they can be very effective.
Most people panic when they are attacked by lots of beasties at the
same time (and using the SR combat rules you get a great bonus for
multiple attackers }-) ) and though your sammy in heavy armour will
probably not notice the attacks, everyone else will.
Just a though
