I was quite supprised when I saw the C^3 deck in Shadowtech.
The main disadvantages with it was immediatly apparant:

1) When you can afford to upgrade it, you need vast ammounts of
surgery, which may loose you even more essence. (And to be
honest, most of my players don't have it to loose.)

2) When encoutering black ICe you can't just (get someone else)
rip the cable or cut it. The main advantage with vidscreens is
that people can see what you are doing, and messages can be
printed, like sensor readouts etc. I use this to great effect
by having someone on gaurd so if I encounter a Black ICe they
can try to jack me out.

3) It is difficult to attach Off-line storage, vidscreen,
hitcherjacks or all the new addons that make life fun.

Considering that my deck runs with 500MP Active, 1000MP Storage
and 2000MP of Offline, the memory cost alone, if all headwear
would be cripiling. Yes I do have to be carefull of system
load, but the power is worth the effort.

The sign of a good decker, is thier ability to run naked in the
Matrix. But the problem is hardening, like you don't get none
chummer! So in the compartment in my Cyberarm I had an MPCP,
Hardening, persona chips and Reaction instaled in a padded
medium. I was able to jack-in normaly but with the additional
safty, all my programs are written on the fly, and pay data is
loaded straight into headware. Now some people may be saying
that it doesn't sound too good. Well it's safer than nothing,
quick, and if you code the chips yourself, cheap. So remember
you don't need fancy decks to be good, just skill, and a bit of
luck.

Enough for now, see you in the Matrix,

Ah, the long lost art of running the matrix naked. And for a
while there I was worried that it was dying out....
