]some insight. The limit of .5 essence is not a limit of how much cyberware
]you can get put in your head, it is the limit of essence that can be used up
]by eyeware. That is, no matter how much eyeware you get, you can only lose
].5 essence. So if you have just normal cybereyes (not beta or alpha), thermo,
]low-light, a camera, and mag-3 optics, the character only loses .5 essence,
even
]though that grouping of cyberware adds up to about 1.6 or 2.0 essence. (no
]flames on the essence totals please, I don't have my book with me.) (flame on
]the other stuff if you want.)

As reluctant as I am to jump in with a bit of dreaded rules-lawyering,
I'm not really sure I understand your meaning. SRII says (I don't have my SRI
handy):
"Cybereyes will accept additional vision enhancements up to .5 Essence
Cost without further Essence loss."
It sounds as if you think that you can put whatever you want in to the
eyes, and it'll only cost .5 Essence. Not so. You just get a "free"
(tanstaafl, my friends) .5 Essence since you're yanking out your eyes and
putting machines in their place anyway. IMHO.
