Hey I was told something about a scuba weapon that was not listed in
Cyberpirates and I was wondering if someone could come up with stats for
it... It's called a bang stick (When I first heard it, I thought they
were trying to make a movie reference to Army of Darkness and so it
should have been boom stick.) and it is basicly an underwater shotgun
(buckshot, not slug) where you slam one end against your target to
trigger it. (I'm guessing it has only one shot and then must be
replaced. [replaced immediately ... reloading, I'm guessing, requires
special equipement.])

Thanks.

Sounds like it's just a shotgun shell afixed to the end of a pole,
in such a way that a sharp impact drives the shell back onto the equivilant
of a firing pin. (Well, probably the shell is in a short pipe and there's a
plunger that hits it, but you get the picture). You could probably build
several of them yourself if you were so inclined, but I'm not suggesting
it.

Don't know about stats off the top of my head, but those sorts
of things usually are called powerheads and are fitted to the end of a
spear (either hand held, or used with a spear gun).
You used to be able to also get ones that used a .303 bullet.
They were used for taking out sharks or other large underwater
game. I'm sure they would make a mess of a human were they to get hit by
one.
Tom Clancy had Mr Kelly (who later became Mr Clark) use one in
"Without Remorse". Kelly used it to take out a drug dealer - walked up
to him and smacked the open end against this poor suckers chest.
Basically shredded this guys internals and (according to the book)
didn't make much of a sound as all of the energy from the round entered
the guys body immediately. I don't know if this is how they would work
IRL, but it would be a cool toy for a Shadowrunner, especially in a
large crowd of people

cheers

You got it. It can get fancier then that, but that's all you really need.
(I remember a certain individual in my high school who
experimented with making these, this is the same individual who
showed me how to make "napalm". Amazing what you could
find instructions for on BBS's in those days.
