Hi everyone here !
My players told me there is a Shadowrun mailing list, I tried, i like it :-)

Here are a set of comments:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CYBORGS
One advantage of the cyborg is there is no limited space for headware (no skull),
so he (it ?) can be modified with lots of stuff. The problem is to give a limit so
that the game is not unbalanced.

When a guy gets cyberware or bioware, he is one with his stuff, his aura does not
stop to his shoulder if he has a cyber arm ! For a cyborg I think the metal becomes
one with the brain. Therefore the cyborg has an aura, it can be targetted by mana
spells. Another point is : the metal has an aura like the brain, so their 2 differe
nt auras are merged (? what do you think about that theory, not sure). However, the
aura is one with the metal at one condition : it is its body, not only an occasion
nal carrier for the brain, nor a remotedly controlled system. It has to be THE BODY
of the cyborg.

Wanna have an idea about cyborgs ? Read the book of F. Herbert "Void
Destination"
(translated from french, I will give you the right title if thats not that one).
The main point of the book is the creation of an AI, but Herbert wrote something i
nteresting about cyborgs : they have to dream, to cultivate a part of unconsciousne
ss, else they go crazy (wanna see a banshee with a crazy pilot who is controling it
as you control your own body ?) and then they die. You cannot go against nature. M
oreover someone with essence 0 is more likely to become a cyberpsycho. If scientifi
cs put sub-systems to control him he will be less autonomous (a robot), just see th
e effect of cyberware in animals. Then he will have the intelligence of a chicken (
don't want to see a psycho-chicken banshee).

Just : tech and magic and not good friends (thats worst than mages and shamans) ;-)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AURAS
I think when diffreent auras are mixed or very close (plants onto a vehicule, or c
rowd), the watcher has to check if he can concentrate on one of the aura (astral pe
rception test).
I have no idea however about focuses IN the body (teeth or other).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ETIQUETTE
As far as I am concerned I give +1 to etiquette as every other concentrations, bea
cause
1) i compel my players to by many etiquette (1 for corporations, 1 for street...)
so I give the bonus to balance the cost.
2) i give a +2 bonus to the natural language which is a specialization without con
centration nor general. I try to have genaral rules (I forget when I have specific
rules).
