I. Damaging Manipulations and Spell Defense (and Shielding)

According to Tom Dowd, oh-so-recently Dark Lord on High (an e'er shall
be, as far as I am concerned), when inquired as to whe'er spell defense
and consequently shielding was effective in combating the effects of
damaging manipulation spells, he responded thusly:

"Yes, it helps. You have to remember that even though a damaging manipulation
isn't operating like a combat spell, meaning that it creates something
physical (the elemental effect) and by way of that to hurt the target, there
is STILL a magical aspect to the attack, because it is, after all, a /spell/."

II. Manablast

The passage indicating that Manablast -- or indeed, any mana spell -- has
Blast (Wind) elemental effects is in error. No mana spell may be equipped
as such.

The above was mentioned in the ShadowRun II Errata, if I recollect correctly.
