In ShadowTech (I think) there is a reference (and stats) for a Datajack
LEVEL 4. Can someone please tell me what the advantages are of this jack
over the one listed in SRII?

Cheers,

Gav

Shadowtech introduces rules on Data Transfer Rates from chips to brain....
I think the DataJack 4 is quicker.....

In brief, each datajack can only pipe so much data in or out (from
headmem) each turn.

Level Rate Cost Essence
1 25MP/t 500 0.10
2 50MP/t 1000 0.15
3 75MP/t 2000 0.20
4 100MP/t 4000 0.25

The basic SRII datajack has a Rate of 25.

And if you think that's goofy, takea look at Cybertechnology...

The various datajacks have a Data Flow Rate (DFR) listed, which indicates
how many Mp of data can flow through them per turn. For example, if you
have a datajack with a DFR of 50 and you need to download 200 Mp into your
headware memory, it takes 4 turns. The standard SRII datajack has a DFR of
25, BTW.
