Could someone tell me the difference between the different
smartlinks and datajacks. There is the original datajack and smatlink
which are covered in SRII but what are datajack 1, datajack 2, datajack 3,
datajack 4, and smartlink 2?

The datajack 1,2,3,4 are from shadowtech. They pass data at progressively
higher rates, important for cranial cyberdecks (also ST) and possibly loading
to headware memory.
The smartlink 2 is from FOF, and has several advantages- called shots at only
+2, long and extreme range shots with reduced tn's.
These are not usually available to begining caracters, although we make
exeptions for the datajacks, since they are cheap, common, and legal.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the DataJacks (DJ's for short) 1,2,3,&4,
have different dataflow rates (I think dj1 has a lower, dj2 is about
standard, and dj's 3&4 have improved) The Smartlink II I believe has a
rangefinder added which yields increased accuracy at long and extreme ranges.

Datajacks 1,2,3,&4 are in Shadowtech

Smartlink II is in fields of Fire

The datajacks level 1 through 4 are from Shadowtech, and Smartlink 2 is from
Fields of Fire.
The difference between the various datajacks is that data flows through them
faster the higher the rating. I don't think there is too much use for this
in the game, but hey it's nice background: "I've got a datajack(4), _much_
superior to you level 1" :)
The difference between the smartlinks is that a smartlink 2 gives you -1 TN
at Long and Extreme range if coupled to a range finder, gives only +2 for
making called shots (against the normal +4 -- whatever FOF says is a typo),
and generally feels better.
