OK, let's define a dead game, as one where the company
has closed down, no one has the lisence to produce new
material, etc.
If you want to consider a game dead because the "feel"
of the game is different, then SR has been dead to me
since right after SR3 came out. ;-)

AFAIK, a lot of that had to do with the new lisence
restrictions handed down from Lucas.
WotC was basically told what they could and couldn't
do with the game.
WEG had a LOT more freedom to play in the world.
And that's probably due to the new movies as much as
anything.

Say it with me. "Lucas Sucks." ;-)

L5R never really caught on around here.
7th Sea is doing great. AFAIK.
A friend of mine just wrote their new LARP rules for
them, after he pulled off a good LARP at Origins last
year.
