IN the gear section of SRII it lists two programs which aren't
described in the Matix chaper: Sift and Restore. Can anyone sell me what
these are and their operation.

Just too bad I don't know ! A few extra bucks(sp?) would surely help ! ;-)

Sebastien

P.S.: As I will be moving to a new university, I wanted to know if there
is a command that can instruct LISTSERV to change my address ?

Sift looks for specific data- a name, a adress, whatever- and highlights all
files in a node with that data. It uses the same mechanics as browse.
Restore ? I think it restores degradable or damaged utilities.

Are they not in VR1?

I don't think that's right. This two programs are coming from VR and sift is
used to read data faster than normal. I don't have the book with me as usual
therefor I have to look it up. Just from memory:
Normally you're able to read something like INT per round in data. With a
sift program that's higher speed, but there's a chance that you're missing
your topic, too.
Restore helps against these Acid, Binder, Marker etc... programs and IC which
are modifying your persona ratings.
That's for now. If not true, I'll be back with the right ones ...
bye,
Stefan
