Contrary to popular mythos (HA!), Deckers aren't portable shields. I kinda
see deckers as part spy, part informant, and part cop. There's something
to be said for anyone who is willing to go into hostile waters alone wearing
only a diving suit...

Deckers, IMHO, serve the purpose of information gethering. The Matrix is
like what I understand the 'Internet' to be. Really, really big. Look
here, for example. If I post a question to this listserve, odds are that
around 200 people or so will read it, and about %1 or %2 will respond VIA
E-mail or posting answers.

This is what deckers, for the most part, do. Through Shadowland or
anything else. Instant information. The Matrix is more information.
Information = NuYen. SoKa?

As one of the only players that play deckers in my area, I know this...

If your game is combat intensive, and the decker HAS to be in the fire,
GIVE THE DECKER the big gun. They might not hit, but when they do, ooooo
yah... Big guns, big whammys, and STOP!

Ok, but only because you asked nicely...
GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNN

Hmm... I'm gonna have to look at my magic files again. I don't 'spose
Aztech is open, neh?

But, seriously, if you get it working, I'd be intrested in seeing this.
Post it...

Hee hee!

Actually - in our game - it is the deckers who foot the bill.
What I mean about that is the fact that we set our rates high
for our jobs and won't be hired cheaply - but that is more for
status than money - cause we all know the decker (or deckers if
you are sending in two at a shot) are going to brink back far
more nuyen worth of data than we got in being hired.
