sorry boys but i will have to disagree with everyone on the
discussion that claims deckers suck. I myself refuse to play anything
but a decker and i like them. Hypothetical question: How do suppose
you can get your men to the top of a 50 story building if you dumbies
knock out all of the power on the city block??(THINK ABOUT IT!)
Hypothetical questions answer: You need a decker in the matrix(du)
who can control both the security and the elavators. Anyone who
knows decking would know that. And also deckers have that cash
most of the time. Easy access to the banks.!!!!!

Try thinking before you open your mouths next time,

The problem isn't that deckers suck, it's that DECKING sucks.

The cinematic presentation of netrunning is time consuming and not even
close to any contemporary thoughts on cyberpunk realism. I am not going
to take an hour or two of game time out so that one person can run his
decker in search of datafiles and Evil Inc.

If FASA had come up with some realistic fast-resolution rules, it would
be much better, but right now it's easier to just make deckers NPCs and
at least enjoy the game.

Hypothesis #2:
The mage levitates either each person up individually, or uses a
stacked spell. Or perhaps a levitate object spell on the slab the
characters can stand on. Or something similiar.

Hypothesis #3:
The characters can scale the outside of the building. (Ok, it's a
stretch, but hey...)

Hypothesis #4:
They can climb either the stairs (that's what they're there for
after all) or the inside of a elevator shaft. (Usually they're equiped
with ladders for maintnance purposes.)

Yeah, Deckers are useful, no question. I play a netrunner in CP2020
and I find him to be a very useful character. The problem is in
running them effectively without using up all the GM's time on one
character. IMHO of course. Still, all characters go off on their own
now and again, so perhaps the problem is more perceived than actual.

GLO (still thinking)
