Any ideas on the nature of a Hermetic Circle, and of a Ward?

In particular, how can an unfriendly mage knock down either?
(Apart from the Initiate dispell magic ability.)

And what about mundanes?

Can a mundane destroy a Hermetic Circle by making a break in
the magic symbols inscribed in the floor?

What about for a Ward? Come to think of it, does anyone have
an idea whether Wards have any physical component that's still
visible after it's erected? (Since the ability to astrally
project is a prerequisite for making a Ward, it seems that the
ward is constructed, at least in part, by the mage in astral
space.)

(In our old Runequest II game, wards were set up between special
enchanted `ward sticks'. If someone could penetrate and knock
down a stick, the ward collapsed (retreated?) back between the
remaining ones. But none of us have a clue what Wards are like
in SR... Despite the fact that we've been playing it for years,
now.)

Astral combat.

> And what about mundanes?

Mundanes aren't affected by a hermetic circle to begin with, so
they really have nothing to worry about. :-). If you want to send
in some mundanes to clear the way for the magicians, then it's
up to how the GM describes the ward. For instance:

I'd rule yes. The easier way (and closer to the rules) is to
incapacitate the mage.
