In the pbem I have just started running a player of mine is playing a rigger
with cyber out the yanger ... and has full limb replacements, cybertorso, and
cyberskull ...

Here is the rub, he liked the idea of detachable cyberlimbs ... take one out
and clip on another one ...

I limited it to the eyes, ears, arms, legs, and yes, penis (if desired) ...

For each limb that was detachable an additional .25 essence cost was tacked
on to represent the connection point on the torso or skull ...

Each limb could not have more (but can equal) the essence cost paid initially
during the implantation ... so a right arm with 1.6 essence cost as the
primary means that all of the other right arms could not contain more than
1.6 essence points worth of cyberware ...

What is your opinion on this topic ?

How else would you 'rule' this ?

Thanks,

Mike

Personally, while I think it's a pretti nifti idea, it would completely
preclude the use of ANYTHING with a neural connection, with the exception of
non-cyber items(Anything that uses a DNI add-on). Why? Because a cyberarm
deck, an arm Orientation System, and an Arm Tac Computer will all use
COMPLETELY different neural hookups. Basically, it boils down to not allowing
anything that doesn't cost 0 Essence when in a cyberlimb.

Forgiven, this time. Possibly the joke came from the song by the same name?
=)

Wolfstar, without ANY detachable limbs - just a detachable skull. =)

Most likely it came from the song of the same name. Or if you went to high
school with me, it would have originated with yours truely. :)

Yes, I can see your point, but that is also where the additional essence cost
comes into play, as that represents the integration point from which DN
control of the limb and cyber within them are controlled. Once the limb is
attached there is a few seconds where the limb communicates with the
encephalon and informs it of what cyber is within the limb, this way the
person then knows what is within the limb.

I would also say that someone who puts a limb on also suffers a +2 modifier
for using those limbs for a short period of time, while they get accustomed
to the changed limb, say 10 minutes, and a Willpower test (6) to reduce time
could be allowed. Although each success on the Willpower test will only
reduce the time by one minute per success.
