gosh, this thing has a DIGEST? I feel humbled... but considering the
back-and-forth arguments on this list (and the volume that I respond to), I
think i'll stick with bounce.

Yes, it has a digest. It comes out only one time per day, though. If
that is what you want, knock yourself out.

Actually, a digest is signlificantly smaller than all of the individual
mailing, as you don't have the 1k of headers with each posting.
Considering that Shadowrun averages between 40 and 60 messages a day
during the week, that is a substantial savings if you don't read your
mail more than once a day. But if all you do is stay logged in and are
able to read and delete your mail as it comes in, leaving your
distributions non-digested probably makes more sense.

As I said, to each their own. I'm online enough that digesting doesn't
make sense for me. But of another person only gets on once or twice a
week, digesting is a boon.

And it isn't very often that some idiot spams the list with files like that.

As soon as you set it you will stop getting each posting individually.

This is in the FAQ.

You have to request it. Check the LISTSERV help file that you
received when you first subscribed. If you didn't read it and wantonly
deleted it, send the message "help" to <listserv@*****.nic.SURFnet.nl>
(for us Internet people), and all will be revealed.

Lots of new people on this list recently...has somebody been
advertising or something?

Is there a problem with the RN digest? I've only gotten 4 or 5 digests in
the last month or so.... which accounts for my exceptional quietness for
a while..... Nope, can't attribute it to lurking or (yet another)
netdeath..... <smirk> At least not his time...

Hmmm... Can't answer that, not right away. I'd have to set to digest and
see what happens. I receive two or three digests a day from another list,
which has about half the traffic as this one.

But if you are still having trouble, send to the
listserv@********.itribe.net

set shadowrn mail
set shadowrn digest

The first command will put you so you are receiving individual posts, as
well as turn your mail back on incase you had sent a 'nomail' command.
