Try Hercules and.Xena. That's what my bunch gets stuck on. Game play takes on
the viscosity of tar, come 8:00...

I am amazed you GM's actually allow the TV to be on anywhere
near a role-playing game. If someone in our group attempted to turn on
the TV they would most likely meet a bitter end under a hail of gunfire.

Well, the dining room table is the only place to play at our GM's
house (and his house is the only suitable one to play at) and his dad
inisists on watching TV in the living room while we play which is
adjacent to the dining room...

I have the same feeling... I've seen games with the TV on a few
times, and it's caused me to make the decision that either we
watch TV, _or_ we play an RPG. Doing both at the same time
does NOT work, in my experience.

Turning on music does work, though, as long as it's not MTV
(because then you get people watching the videos) but a CD, the
radio or whatever.

I think I would go mad if someones father was sitting in the next room
watching TV...Have you ever looked for other places to play Alexia? At
least around here lots of the gaming shops have rooms you can use at no
charge even, you just have to schedule it first. Actually now that I think
about it Loki's wife watches TV sometimes while we play, but that's just
not the same as someone's dad :)

The only place is the Pack Shack and I think they have some sort of
Tourney goin on on Fridays...the only day when all of us can
play...I'd offer to have it at my house...at least it's a seperate
room...but I live too far away from anyone else. *shrug* I guess I'll
just have to marry the GM and we can have it at ~our~ house. *evil,
scheming, plotting grin*

Hmm...if only Loki wasn't already married. :)

Hate it when I do that to myself.
