God, folks, how many Karma points are we passing out here? Computer-12,
Comp-theory 13, what's next? What is the point?
Don't get me wrong, and don't take me _too_ seriously-- frankly, I started
trashing any postings with the word 'Banshee' in it after I read the first
one. I'm not putting down the participants in that discussion, but I am
moved to ask, what _is_ the subtlety, the SHADOW in SHADOWRUN if one must
play the game at skill levels 13+, dice pools 25+? The dice systems break
down at the high end, folks-- it's not meant, IMHO I REPEAT IMHO as a
powergame, and all this noise about manaballing from astral space, dragons
in runner teams, and related drek just don't do much for my personal style,
my interpretation of the game.

Doctor Doom, my character, is NOT in a powergaming campaign. In fact,
I started him out in a group that wanted to get AWAY from the Powergaming group
they were in previously. I ran him for more than a year...once every week, with
few exceptions. THAT is how he got so good. Further, a select amount of
cyberware and bioware helped me build on his already NATURALLY impressive stats.
Yes, he does have many--check that--most skills above 10 now. It's just
a result of going on so many runs, not from our GM handing out Karma like it
was going out of style.
And in line with that, he IS semi-retired as of now. The GM realize we
were getting too powerful and caused each group member's player go their
separate ways (NO, she didn't kill us off!). We're starting over with a new
group, and it looks like they will be as stimulating as the old.
