hello

What will DOC WAGON do with one client, when this person
is full of illegal cyberware(no permits), as Wired Ref. ,Smartlink,
Cyberweapons.....
Will they call the cops or not.
And when they call the cops who will then use DOC WAGON service.

First, assuming that the client has a valid policy with Doc Wagon,
they will do everything they can, within the bounds of that contract,
to save the person's life. Once that the continuation of that life is
ensured, they will do whatever they feel is necessary.

Yes, they will call the cops when someone comes in with illegal 'wears.

I have always played that if the player had a fake sin or fake id
that his 'ware was registered on the id. Same with registering mages.
And the DocWagon contract was registered under that SIN.

Hey, they're not paid to enforce the law and If I dish out the cash
every year for a platinum (or gold) contract, I'd better get discreet
service. :-) If not, some palm greasing might help.

Wouldn't that require buying fake permits and whatnot? What rating
would these permites be? Just enough so Doc Wagon could say that there was
something registered on the 'stick?

If you've got the permits, then the 'ware isn't illegal. If you
*don't* have the permits, then it *is* illegal, and not reporting you
to the authorities makes you an accessory to the crime. You think Doc
Wagon is gonna risk their bond over whether or not your 'ware is legal
or not? Hell no--they're gonna report you first chance they get.

Of course, gettin permits is expensive, usually around 10% of the cost
of the 'wares themselves. It's all in Shadowtech somewhere.

But if you have fake permits, then it *is* illegal, and so are the
permits. I don't have my rules with me (That'll teach me not to bring SR
to work! :-)), but I would assume that a fake permit might have a rating
like a credstick? If not, maybe they should to make the rules regarding
permits consistent with those for fake credsticks.

Also, given how corrupt corps are in SR, it should be possible to
"arrange" something with Doc Wagon. Maybe for the cost of a platinum
contract?

I dunno, given the rate that characters got shot up and seriously
wounded in most of the games I've been in, if we couldn't go to Doc Wagon
we'd be sunk.

Not really. All a permit really does is say what this guy (insert SIN)
has is registered and is legal. If the SIN passes, the permits should pass
as well. This is of course the easier route. A harder route would
be to make a fake permit with a non-existent SIN (not even fake) and
insert it into some records. This would have a rating, IMO.

Always should be an option. I love politics.

Definitely!

Ah! But they don't know the permits are fake. If you have permits, and
they seem to be in order, then there's no problem. Any decent Fixer
should know someone who can get the appropriate paperwork.

Oh, not necessarily. Don't forget that the police (at least in Seattle)
are only private security corporations hired to enforce the local law.
DocWagon, being a separate corporation, may not feel it necessary to
reveal information about THEIR clients to an outside agency.
After all, keeping Shadowrunners with pumped cyberware out on the streets
has GOTTA be good for business in the long run.
