I see that dodging surly is a very rough try not to get caught by Mr.
45, and that it is in RL rather hard and sheer luck not to get hit
while MMG fire is al around you. That is the point in RL of MG and the
like, to cover a great arc of fire and to hit several targets without
accuratate targeting. But if I would use the above, I would rather
stand there and shout "Shoot me, har, har!" then trying to dodge.
Example:
Sam with Ares Predator II (Smartlink) shooting at me while I ran for
cover. He stands, best light for fire no Modifier other than Target
Running (+2), Smartlink (-2) and short Range (I just ran in Front of
him). Target to hit me would be 4. Having a Pistol Skill of 6 and
alocating 2 Dice of his 8 Combat Pool Dice, he roles on average 4
Successes (probably more).
I have 8 Comabt Pool Dice and just started to run, just seeing the
Sam out of the corner of my Eye, I use all of my pool in that Pass
not to get hit. My targetnumber would be 6 due to short range. On
average I roll 2 successes, more if I use Karma. So I get shot.
Having a Duster weared I would run better if I just stood there and
said "shoot me!", well at least if I ran then.
For the Vision Modification I think you mean the Lightmodifiers. I
Do think they are OK to use as if you don't know from where the Lead
flies, you can't dodge.
That is in real life. But I realy don't think that the dodge rules in
general are that balanced as for instance the Autofire first have to
hit you before you have to dodge the incomming fire. And by then the
T# for the attacker would be so high (firering 10 shots on fullauto
without a Gyromount lets your modifier run into the 11+ range) that
one would not hit you. And only then would a +3 or +4 for dodgingtests
apply. Annyway that was not the issue. So I guess the Combat system is
so highly depart from RL that you should not take to much into account
of making it more real. Adding some Vision modifiers would be cool,
but
making the base Dodge T# dependent of were you stand gets a bit too
far
IMO. Of course if it suits you, do it.
I formyself qould get a bit further in the visionmodifiers as I would
impair modifiers based on a free Perceptiontest if apropriate. If the
Pc's performs well he gets no mod, if he performs bad he gets
modifiers
based on the Perception Succes Table.

0 Success : No Dodge allowed
1 Success : +3
2 Success : +2
3 Success : +1
4 Success : +0

I know that it probably makes it more hard for the dumb ones out
there,
but then, if you can't see that someone shoots you, you get shot.
Annyway, I'll better quit, wondering wether or not one will read this
as
it is quite long ;o)

He probably would cause reality to fold itself around the person,
shunnning it from reality so that he not creates a black hole as the
persons mass would go ad infinitum. So I would guess the laser would
not only hit him, the beam would simply fall upon him. That is if
reality did not shunn the person out of the rest of the universe.
