Welcome back! Good to see that you were at least able to see what we were up
to, even if you couldn't participate.

Your stuff of corporate power varying across national borders is confirmed by
the Corporate Shadowfiles, which even mentions Germany as an example of a
nation where corps have a shorter leash than the UCAS... Have you been talking
to the folks at FASA again? ;)

The way that I deal with 'two-weapon style' skills is to require the character
to have both the 'two-weapon' skill and normal skill for each weapon. He then
uses the _lower_ of the two skills to determine how many dice he gets.

Pardon me, but I am rather "in the dark" concerning most IBM software. What
exactly is this _DOOM_ everyone is chatting about?

It's sort of the the next generation of Wolfenstein 3-d (same people did
it). It essentially is a virtual reality engine that takes up little
space in both disk, memory and CPU. It's not perfect, of course.
Movement is still only 2-dimentional, although you do have stairs and
elevators.

The gameplay is you as the last remaining space marine on one of Mars'
moons being overrun by the demons of hell, so you race through this
virtual universe blowing away badguys with as assortment of nasty
weaponry. It's interesting, though, because let's pretend there is a
badguy across the room on a ledge. You shoot him with your shotgun. he
dies. Later, you cross that ledge, and find you that not only did you
kill the badguy, but you blew him back about ten feet up onto a pedistal.

Plus, it plays on a network so you and your budding can square off
together (up to 4 people).

It's the of the biggest leaps that PC games have taken since Wolf 3d or
Wing Commander.

Nightmare level doesn't let you use the cheats.

Otherwise, try iddqd, idkfa, idbehold, idspispopd, idclev, id...

If you like mega-violence, it's about the coolest game on PC at the
moment. It's a bit like Wolfenstein (if you know that), but with better
graphics. The background story is some shit about saving Earth or
soemthing before it gets taken over by hell, but basically you shoot your
way through a load of levels infested with bad guys. Shotgun, minigun,
lasers, chainsaw, bare hands, and a few others, are what you use to do
whatever the storyline wants (i.e. waste the suckers).
