The known trend in history has always been a a peak, followed by a downward
spiral.

However, (meta)humans are creatures that need consistency in their lives.
There is no greater fear than the fear of change. That's why religion
thrives, because they assure you that after the greatest change anyone will
ever witness in their lives,...death, everything will be okay, as long as
you pay and follow their rules.

This fear of change causes (meta)humans to search for a bit of peace and
quiet every so often. That's why a "structure" of some sort always rises
from the chaos that is the end of the downward spiral. Nothing ever
lasts,...not even that downward spiral.

And then the cycle starts all over again. The degredation last for so long
before something happens that leads the people to peace and rest. In
Shadowrun we have just witnessed the peak drop into a downward spiral after
the Awakening. It's clear that from all this, something will eventually
arise. Now I don't know much about earthdawn and the first, second, third,
fourth or fifth world. But that must be the pattern. The next peak will
probably be the seventh world, or whatever the people at FASA have planned
for us.
