Heya :>

Has anyone out there considered using the dragon-kin in the Shadowrun
setting? And if so, is there anything you would tweak?

There seems to be a hint that they exist in the SR universe; pp. 103 -
104 mention a Triad member named Dragon-eyes, whose eyes match a
dragon-kin trait...and he's rumored to be the offspring of a
shapechanged dragon and a human.

Any thoughts?

First, page 103 to 104 of WHAT??? Second, sort of ... If you want my
Dragon-Kin rules in ED email me privately (I would like some feed back as
it was just something off that top of my head that requires that you
start characters off at 2nd or 3rd Circle)

As for Dragon-Kin in SR, I'd make it a 4-6 point edge treating the
Astral-sensitive sight as the Astral Sense Adept Ability (See Awakenings
p.xx ;)

Heya..

*sheepish expression* That's what I get for logging on after 24
sleepless hours...

In reference to me post below, the page numbers refer to New Seattle,
and the dragon-kin are in Dragons.

while I may have missed the begining of this thread (due to my account
suddenly going no mail)
IEs are Dragon-kin in ED, though as has been said, given DLOH's antipathy
towards ED, it may not hold true for SR :-)
Remember, Alamaise was the fore-father of the IEs of Wyrm Wood, that would
include Alachia, Jenna N'Fairra and Aithen Oakforest, maybe even Aina. (Of
course they are not all from Wyrm/Blood Wood, so who can be sure)
So if you are wondering what this might have to do with SR, Alamais is
Lofwyr's brother, which means that Lofwyr getting elected into the Council of
Princes was really just a form of nepotism. :-)

I think that the comment about the Dragon-eyes' eyes was meant to support
the rumor about him being a dragon in human form. (Dragons in human form
have human sized but draconic eyes.) You could interprete it either way
however.

His brother??! Has this been revealed anywhere in SR? Or ED, for that matter?
Or is this one of those "FASA insider" perks?

In Dragons, I assume (haven't read it yet) and in the SR novel Night's Pawn.

Actually, it's revealed in the novel "Night's Pawn", by Tom Dowd.
Also, Lofwyr may very well be an only child, now....

IIRC [my copy not instantly at hand] in 'Secrets of a Dragon' there's an
entry in Dunklezhan's will that pretty much states that Alamais isn't
actually dead. Something to do with a fruitcake of all things I think.

Actually in Dragons they only reference Lofwyr as Alamaise's brother, never
actually naming him (or Naming him rather).

No, Alamais (note that in SR it's spelt without the final E the way ED
spells it) is NOT dead - as per the line in Dunkelzahn's will, about
leaving Alamais the fruitcake they've exchanged every Xmas since 2020,
where Dunky says "Unlike you, I'm really dead."

I read that novel years ago. Guess it's time for a re-read.

Thanks.
