I have a published shadowrun adventure I don't want to name because I don't
want to spoil the ending. Unless most people here are DMs? Anyway, in this
module, there is a dragon, and at one point the dragon leaves his body to
support his side in astral space. He provide spell defense for his side and
attacks any spells he sees.

What does this mean? No magic for your side, no spell locks, elementals, or
anything. Your opponent mages are unopposed. Even if the reach and body
armor aren't counted in astral space, this dragon's astral body, quickness,
and strength will most definately kill anything it comes across.

Well - SRII, p. 222: "Magic capability: All great dragons and some of
the lesser dracoforms are magically active. They usually follow the
shamanic tradition."

This implies they follow the rules for shamans, which would imply
they can go astral projecting, leaving their body behind, just as
magicians can.

Bull, by "going completly astral", I do hope you didn't mean they
don't even leave their meat bod behind?

Actually Sascha, i did... I know this really goes against the rules, but
then, we're talking about Dragons... Craetures that can pretty much
transform tehir body into other shapes at will anyways...

Besides... The main reason I started doing this was because otherwise a
bunch of my players would have stumbled across Perianwyr's body while he
was having a magic duel with a Shark Shaman's Force (8? 10? it was huge,
and he almost killed himself summoning it) City Spirit...

Sorry, but an Astrally Projecting Dragon's body would make a kill WAY too
easy... Plus it gave me an easy escape later on, when they all confronted
the dragon... I treat it similar to True Form Spirits... They manifest,
and tehy are solid, but tehy can turn completely Astral, allowing for FAR
more fun player torture...

As I said, this is strictly a House Rule on my part that I thought I'd
throw out for people to chew on...:):):)

Oh, the characters in my game are gonna get chewed on
allright <Big Evil Grin>. The "mage"'s astral image
manifests into the form of a Greater Dragon. What do you
do? <cackle>

I live for these little gems of creativity that make it to
the list from time to time :)
