I think I remember this from one of the novels but I can't be sure.
Don't dragons speak in a similar way? Through very fine manipulation of
emotional projection? I thought I read a conversation between Lofwyr and a
character in one of the very early novels. "Never Deal With A Dragon"
perhaps?
