Subject: drugged out btl rules on the fly

HOI again,
So, Ya want rules,? Well, as Rat said, There are too many different types
of chips out there to come up with a straight and concrete set of rules so the
best thing to do is ad-lib it. So without further ado:

BTL RULES ON THE FLY
1. Getting them
Well, you gotta find them first and there not easy to locate (or the cops
would have already nailed them all):). The best way to find them would probably
be through another user or POSSIBLY, and I do mean POSSIBLY, you might be able
to get them through a fixer (if he's slimy enough).
After you find them, ya gotta pay for 'em. And let me tell ya, it ain't
cheap. If you must know, there really is no "fixed" price for BTL because each
chip is different, (at least that's what they'll tell ya). The average run of
the mill chip should cost anywhere from double the price of a new simsense
release to five times that, according to the quality, and of course, the dealer
You can get them for cheaper, but those can be extremely dangerous.

2. Using them
That's easy. all you need is either a chipjack, or a simsense player and a
datajack, and you riding. Because they are simsense with a much higher
amplitude, they are highly addicting. If you want to make a check to see if the
y are addicted you need to (and I repeat, I just made this up) make the player
make a willpower check with the target number equal to The amplitude + the numb
er of times he has used BTL's before + The amount of time he used the chip, in
minutes. this may seem a little harsh, but That is the way of drugs.
The amplitude is the amount the simsense has been amplified from "normal". Thi
s number can either be made up (Yes I said Make it up! You are the GM, you can
do this!) :) OR, if you already have a chip written up you can use it.
EXAMPLE:
Joe has chipped just once before, during a party (BOY that was great), and
he has decided to do it again (KNOB!). Well, he got hold of a average chip
and so we'll give it a rating of 5 let's say. O.K. well the chip only last for
five minutes (Its only an average chip) so he chips in.......WOWWWW!!!!!....
.......AHHHHHHHHHH!. Now he will check to see if he has become addicted to it.
Joe's willpower is 4, and he rolls it against a taret number of 1(# of times
he used chips before) + 5 (the "rating of the chip) +5(the number of minutes
he was in the chip's sway). Joe rolls a 3,4,1,6.rerolling the 6 he gets a 5.
his roll is now a 3,4,1,11 which means Joe's lucky, this time.

That's it for now. These rules(which I just made up) should get you throug
h the "safe" chips. There are modifiers for the "bad" chips but since
I have to
get back to work, they'll have to wait til tomorrow. See you then

Catch you in the shadows
