Just a few quick questions:

1) I assume the addiction level on drugs gives the saving roll to ovoid
addiction (eg m4 is a will saving roll tn#4, were as physical saving rolls
are on body). Is this correct? If not what do they mean?

2) What is meant by the Legality level assigned to very things in some of
the source books(ie what is the game mechanics behind them)

3) Lastly... according to the London Source Book cyberware is grouped into
three groups as far as there legality is concerned. I assume this is
offencive, defencive and other. Could someone confirm this or not.

thnaks in advance,

the number is a target number, you roll body or willpower i think but
i cannot remember the details.

Its a target number for the police, if they get the first number or
more when they catch you with it they are annoyed (ie can be bothered
to book you for it), the 'P' if present means you can get a permit
for it to make yourself legal, then the final code is the category of
the item, CC is class C cyber, M is military weapon (oops) e.t.c.,
you can look up the corresponding bad news on the fines and
punishments tables in various sourcebooks.
The base rules are in Sprawl sites i think (or something like that).

they are grouped by type, cannot remember which is which, but one is
for harmless stuff, datajacks, memory etc another for trouble like
cranial decks and one for offensive stuff, but it gets complex, note
that some countries (see sourcebooks) have different subdivisons to
others so be warned.

Yes. Actually the code is the other way around -- 4M, 6P, whatever, but
that's not important. Against a 4M drug you make a Willpower (4) test to try
and avoid addiction.

Those are in Shadowtech. The first number is how likely it is for police
officers to arrest/fine you for owning/carrying/using said item. This
requires a Police Procedures skill roll, using the number as the TN. If the
test is successful, they'll hassle you about it.
If the number is followed by a "P" you can get a permit for the thing in
question.
Then comes a dash ("-") followed by one or more letters, which indicate the
class of item. BB is class B Bioware, E is pistol, etc.

So, say you carry an Ares Predator on the street, legality 6P-E, and you
encounter a cop. He spots the weapon, and rolls Police Procedures. Too bad
for you, he gets an 8... "Show me your permit for that pistol," he says.
"Erm, well, I kinda like don't have any..." is your reply.. He'll arrest you
(let's say he can, because you let him live :) and then you get fined about
1500 nuyen for transporting a class E weapon.

Nope. CA, CB, and CC. CA is paralegal cyberware, CB is "designed for law
enforcement," and CC is military-grade.
