What with the feeling of ED magic and conspiracy theories on the list at the
moment I was wondering if A: anyone knows where I could find that short
story where Dunklzahn visits Harlequin and asks him to tell people about
things to come and B: who killed the first wyrm?

Actually, the story of the First Wyrm is in the ED supplement "Dragons",
which FASA has for download. It's a fairly big PDF, but it's worth it, IMO.

Yeah I know; I stood over my printer for a few hours turning the pages over
so that it would print on both sides :)> In First Wyrm I was talking about
old Dunky. I've read the stuff in Target: UCAS but I was wondering what
else people know; I'm pretty sure there's stuff in the novels.

Ah, ok. The Earthdawn stuff has been screwing with my mind. I haven't read
the books, but one of the trilogies that immediately followed Dunky's death
apparently revealed that he killed himself to save metahumankind from the
Horrors.

The story of what happened to Dunky is in the Dragon Heart
Saga (three parts: "Stranger Souls," "Clockwork Asylum," and
"Beyond the Pale.") Good reads--I recommend them if you like
the whole dragons/IE/ED thing, although the protagonist is
a bit on the...er...overpowered side. :)

As for the other story, I believe it's called "Wyrm Talk." Search
on that--I know several folks have it on their websites, but
I can't remember who at the moment.

A: it's a story called "Wyrm Talk", which is also the name of Dunkelzahns
"chat show". The story is basically about Dunkelzahn paying Harlequin a
visit asking him to be a guest on the show and spilling his guts about all
he knows to the puny mortals. Harlequin naturally declines. Great story.
Wyrm Talk, think it was written by Tom Dowd but since I don't have it here
infront of my I can't be sure.

The three short stories by Tom Dowd, to one of which it looks like you're
referring, are in NAGEE issues 5 and 6. http://plastic.dumpshock.com/nagee
gets two clicks away from them :)

I believe it was originally in a FASA flyer, announcing new SR products,
from (IIRC) 1993. I've got one of them, with the Harlequin and Vestrial
story, but not the others. These flyers are rather hard to get hold of
nowadays, though.

OTOH, if you're just looking for the stories themselves, NAGEE 5 and 6
include them as well, with permission from FASA.

Just as an FYI, since we're on the subject, why not put it in a browser
window? I tried the ASCII formats for both NAGEE 5 and 6 and got the same
error message:
-The requested URL /nagee/NAGEE6.txt was not found on this server.
Same for 5.

Strange... I suppose it's a case-sensitivity thing. I'm not on-line now so
I can't check the actual web site, but on my HD it looks like it should
work. I'll check the site when I send out my mail in a minute.
