Probably this has been answered at some point in time, but as my browser
keeps timing out when I try to view the FAQ, I'm asking it anyway.

This is probably a judgment call thing, but what's the general opinion on
when this should be applied? Clothing, yes, obviously. Weapons, yes. well,
maybe - something like a rifle, sure, but pistols should fit in a dwarf's
hand without modification. Trolls have really big hands, so most any grip
would need to be modified. What about kits, shops, facilities? Again, I
can see trolls getting stuck with a cost mod but I have a harder time seeing
why dwarves would. Survival gear? Tents? Once again, trolls need a bigger
tent, but hell, why would a dwarf want to pay extra for a smaller one when
he can just sleep in a normal-sized one *and* have room for his gear? For
that matter, why don't orks have to pay extra? They're significantly taller
and bigger than humans as well. Vehicles, yes. although there seem to be
two sets of rules for that - the standard modification cost in the main
rulebook and the customization cost given in Rigger 3.

Thanks for your time.

Joe Cotton

Well, Some things would need a whole new set of size standards, clothing for
starters, and other things less so. If approached as a GM, I'd make a quick
judgement call based on the particular items, and how much hassle the players
and characters deserve in the campaign.

I have every expectation that there are overpriced 'Orc' and 'Elf' sized
things for sale in the SR world, and that most people there make do with the
standard models as much as possible.
