I tried using a similar argument with Loki a few months ago, but he still
wouldn't let me bring that Spike Baby - Dwarven Physad into the group.

He kept muttering something about Munchkins. How was I supposed to know
he was prejudiced against short people? :)

Asher he wouldn't let you bring one in because how can you possible explain
a Spike baby with very low skills. Plus all the spike baby's were rounded up
by I think Sean Laverty one of the Tir Tairngire High Princes.

Ok, a couple thoughts on my part...

First off, it depends on how old a spike baby he was... I remember reading
somewhere that in the late twentieth century (i.e. now) there were a lot of
spike babies born, compared to the norm, due to the slow rise in magic. It
wasn't full blown yet, but possibly some of the Meta genes are more
sensitive, which explains the spike babies. And trust me on this one, I
know of mopre than a few 50-60 year old men with very few skills, and what
they have are nothing to brag about. Maybe he's just a slow learner, or
he's had other things to do.

As for Laverty, well, he gathered up the ones he could find...:)

True but there aren't supposed to be alot of them. Thats the point there
rare really rare.

As for Laverty I think he had enough power to find all the "Special
Children" out there.

Oh, I agree. They would definately be rare, but my point was more that the
Ccharacters that a player plays are a rare breed too. Ah well, that was
just my opinion. Every GM does it a bit different.

Same thing here... I would think that he could have missed a few, but...
That's ok...:)

It wasn't that I said YOU couldn't play one, I ruled no PC can be a
spike baby because of too much behind the scenes politics and baggage
they'd be bringing with them.

Nothing against the wee folk. You never had a chance to meet my all
halfling NPC shadowrunner team called "Compact Solutions". But
Munchkin's (not to be confused with the critter in PAoNA) ain't small
folk, they're a hideous player class somewhat skin to the Horrors...

Actually as I've stated earlier I just have a ruling of no PC spike
babies. Spike babies are mainly a GM's NPC tool or plot utility. Simple
as that.

I don't think Laverty is that powerful. Besides, whoever said Laverty would
even be interested in Dwarf or other SB's besides elves?

If you're allowing Horrors as a player class then you really have a munchkin
problem!
<kidding, kidding :-)>

The again . . . that could be interesting . . .
